Stats for Fox River Trail

Entrance: North end of the parking lot
Length: Approximately 5.4 miles
Terrain: The northern 5 miles of the trail are asphalt-paved. The southern 7 miles are crushed limestone.
Description: Borders the preserve on the east and many interesting plants occur on the edge of the trail. An Annual State Trail Pass or a Daily Pass is required for bicyclists, rollerbladers, and horseback riders over 16 years old. There is no fee for walkers. Daily Passes are $3 and are available at the Trail head and at various locations along the trail.
Directions:
It winds through the Fox River Valley from Aurora to Crystal Lake, and is about 45 miles west of the Chicago loop at its closest point.
 For parking take I-88 to Farnsworth, south 2.5 miles to New York Ave. west 2 miles. There is a parking lot just across the river on the right. Trail begins at the north end of the lot.
