How Alpine Skis Are Made and Materials Used

Most skis are a laminate construction, with layers of material glued to the top and bottom of the ski's core.

Titanium Alloy
This provides a good edge hold while making turns, good stability in high speeds, and a nice smooth ride.

Better rebound, flexibility, and edge grip while skiing in icy conditions.

Very durable and an energetic response when called upon.

Another type of ski is the torsion box. These are built by creating an inner box to transfer energy to the snow. These are usually made from wood or fiberglass.
